I'm not sure when or how the information above was supposed, but it is not accurate. While there is the leading teacher for the small school, there are several teachers and aids per student. Often I will see upwards of 4 or 5 adults in the classroom working with the kids on their learning. I appreciate my children being able to attend Countryside Montessori here in Denton. So many "preschools" are merely public school preps in terms of learning their ABCs, how to sit still, and getting used to two recesses or less. Countryside follows the Montessori principles of encouraging independence and natural interests in learning. My son is advanced. His language skills and comprehension of logic are above average for a 4-year-old. He would be bored in a typical preschool which would undoubtedly lead to behavior conflicts. At this school though, he can be challenged where he needs and wants it and gets specialized learning engagement from the teachers in the areas he needs support. Both of my children attend and enjoy being at school and with the faculty and students. My daughter practically runs to the car to have fun at school. My son loves hands-on practical learning, like how to safely cut an apple and even grow plants in the garden. They will ensure readiness for any school choice following enrollment from Countryside, whether that be public, private, or homeschooled. Students will learn appropriate academics as well such as math, reading, and writing. I am hoping the school can add grade levels. I will be keeping my kids at Countryside Montessori as long as possible!
