Craig School, High School Photo #2 - The Orton-Gillingham Approach is an instructional approach intended primarily for use with individuals who have difficulty with reading, spelling, and writing of the sort associated with dyslexia. It is most properly understood and practiced as an approach, not a method, program, system or technique.

Craig School, High School Photo #3 - Project Read Story Form is a multisensory approach to teaching students how to analyze the underlying structure of narrative text.Project Read Report Form is a multisensory approach to teaching students how to analyze the underlying structure of nonfiction text. This strategy is reinforced when students are taking notes in middle school.

Craig School, High School Photo #4 - Craig Lower students have a variety of activities available to them. The Craig School Badgers play other independent Middle Schools in soccer, basketball and lacrosse. Lower School students may also participate in a winter skiing program at the Hidden Valley ski area. Programs include fencing, tennis, golf and workshops for all ages. Students in the 7th and 8th grades participate

MindUP is grounded in the pillars of Neuroscience, Positive Psychology, Mindful Behavior and Social and Emotional Learning. This program helps children build overall personal resilience and develop mindfulness skills that can increase self-control, focus, empathy and optimism. It offers an immersive experience and daily practice

Craig School, High School Photo #6 - CO-ED LACROSSE The lacrosse season begins in March and is open to all middle schhol students. Opponents have included Gill St. Bernards, Montclair Kimberley Academy, Far Hills Country Day, Chatham Day School, Morristown Beard, Mt. Arlington, Harding, and Newark Academy.

Craig School, High School Photo #7 - The college prep program at Craig High addresses the development of the whole student with the goals of creating independent learners, building a greater sense of self, and guiding our students in being an active part in their future decision making process. Our curriculum is cross curricular, integrated, and designed to facilitate active teaching and learning that goes beyond the classroom

The Craig School is an independent, non-profit school specializing in students who have diagnosed, learning disabilities.

The school offers a strategy-based, college preparatory educational program emphasizing multisensory classroom techniques, organizational methods, effective assistive technology and a social communication curriculum.

Craig provides a safe, nurturing learning environment with small structured classrooms, positive student-teacher interaction, and strong ties to parents.
