Despite attending Good Shepherd Catholic Church for many years, I hadn''t considered the school for my pre-school-age daughter, nor did I know much about it. As I was about to commit her to attend a private school in Hollywood, a client suggested GSBH, saying his kids went there and loved it. I set up a tour, and honestly, from the moment I entered the building, I felt so at home. I had attended 12 years of Catholic school myself, and while it was a great experience for me, I hadn''t considered it for my daughter, mainly because I am a progressive/liberal Catholic and worried as she grew into a teen, her education might not reflect the fact that we are living in the complicated times we are in. I had open, honest conversations with the school about things ranging from evolution versus creationism, how girls in particular are positioned for success in high school and beyond, etc. I ultimately enrolled my daughter for what began a 10-year, incredible journey. My very shy daughter flourished and participated in sports, the school musical, student government, etc. She went on incredible field trips and had the joyous school experience I always wanted for her. I was welcomed to participate in all aspects of her education, to chaperone trips, to plan events for the kids, etc., all of which provided me with such a wonderful window into her education and development from pre-schooler to school kid to teen. Although graduating 8th grade was such a milestone and she now loves her high school, leaving GSBH was so emotional. In a city where community is hard to find, it provided so much more than a education...it gave us a "hometown." I wish I could personally meet the folks who are reading this review, so that I could share the hundreds of anecdotes that contributed to my daughter being the awesome young woman she is today, and how the school and its families provided us with such a great environment in which to spend a decade of our lives.

Good Shepherd Catholic School offers exceptional development in every aspect for your child. This school offers the best of education, camaraderie, and Christian values. I could never provide my children what this school gives them. Other parents are very involved and helpful, creating a wonderful community. The principal is very motivated and kind, exceptional teachers - staff and the school''s priest has a special talent for explaining religion to children in a way that''s both entertaining and knowledgeable. I attended GSBH myself, and as an adult I appreciate even more how crucial this school is to a young person''s development. This school helped me to become a successful entrepreneur due its creativity program. I remain deeply thankful for it. Now, after we switched schools, my daughters attend GSBH too, and in just one month I''ve seen them grow in such a positive way. There aren''t enough words to express how highly I think of this school.

I can''t say enough great things about GSBH! The faculty, staff and families make the school an exceptional place for kids to thrive academically, emotionally and religiously. All of my 4 kids started here at 4 years old, and they have always loved to go to school and to be with their teachers and friends. I have referred multiple families over the years, and they all have been extremely happy with their experience. We feel very blessed to be a part of this community, and we are thankful that our kids have the opportunity to learn in this special place.

I attended Good Shepherd from 5th grade and attended till the end of middle school. Good Shepherd was really good at fostering my talents, such as public speaking and leadership. The study habits I gained allow me to succeed at the high school level and I continue to use them throughout my college career.

My three children attended Good Shepherd Catholic School and had the most amazing experience. My children felt safe, cared for and had a great academic experience that lead to them being accepted into their first choice high school. As parents, we could not be happier with the level of family involvement that helped make us feel like a close-knit community. All in all, we highly recommend GSBH!

Our child is in his second year of school at GSBH, and we could not be more pleased with his progress. He loves to learn and is excited to go to school every day. GSBH is very bright, clean, and welcoming, with walls covered in fun art projects and pictures of happy students. The teachers are very creative and effective and the staff is friendly and helpful. GSBH uniquely offers Pre-K and TK in addition to K-8th grade, so the students grow up together. It also means that the younger students are exposed to a more academic preschool experience than the average daycare provides. All of the classes are very small, fostering a lot of one-on-one attention and a very close bond among classmates. In the afternoons, the school offers optional music lessons, extracurricular sports, and a fun after-school program. We feel very lucky to have found GSBH!
