Our son attended Greene Hill from 5th through 8th grade, and we're so grateful for the foundation it gave him. He entered high school confident, curious, and ready to lead—not just academically prepared, but deeply engaged and self-aware. Now in its 16th year, Greene Hill continues to lead with vision, offering a future-forward model of education that empowers students to grow into their full, unique selves. We carry our time there with immense pride and gratitude. A true gem!

My daughter attended Greene Hill for grades preK through 8th grade, and I can't say enough great things about it. The teachers truly care and get to know each kid as an individual. A sense of belonging and community is instilled early on, both in classrooms and the wider school, so it has an authentic atmosphere of warmth. The academics are engaging, intentional and age-appropriate, and the kids learn independence and to take ownership over their work. By the time they get to middle school, they are adept at collaborating, working independently, reading full-length books, critical thinking and writing essays. There is a lot of project-based work, which gives kids the opportunity to demonstrate their deep knowledge in a way that is personal to them. Yes, it's a small school, but that is its greatest asset: kids are well known, encouraged to be themselves, and fully engaged in working together. Best of all, the kids like coming to school--even in middle school. GHS supports families through the high school application process, and my daughter was accepted to a number of highly competitive public and private high schools, as were her classmates, and they are all thriving.

We love Greene Hill because it's a mirror of Brooklyn-diverse, dynamic, and culturally rich. Their teaching model has the right mix of discovery learning and guided instruction, so the students have the right balance of academics and the life skills that they need to be their best in school and beyond. Their sliding scale tuition model makes this diverse environment accessible, allowing us a small school setting with an excellent student-teacher ratio at an affordable cost. We've found a community where our kids feel safe and seen, where active learning thrives, students discover, and we enjoy connecting with other parents every day.

We are in our 4th year at Greene Hill and are very grateful to have joined this wonderful community. Our child loves school, is thriving both socially and emotionally as well as academically. This is true progressive ed, and it's been thrilling to watch it unfold. We are so grateful to have found this special place, highly highly recommend it.

My 8-year-old daughter has been at Greene Hill since she was 5. And she is thriving (even with the impact of the pandemic!). She is an avid and curious learner, excited by new areas this year (like math, cursive and social studies!) The progressive curriculum and commitment to social and racial justice are helping her (and us!) become a thinking and caring citizen. I couldn't be happier. Nor could she! My daughter started at Greene Hill School in the 4s as a shy kid and 6 years later has blossomed into a confident and active member of her community at Greene Hill. Kids at Greene Hill are supported and encouraged to explore and learn about the world and given the space and support they need to do so at their own pace. The kids learn (and take) ownership of their work and take pride in what they do-rather than being motivated by grades/scores; they are motivated to do their best and dig deeper into what they are learning. Social-emotional learning is woven in throughout the day so that they learn how to resolve conflicts, communicate, and talk about inequality. The teachers truly care about each kid as individuals and the community as a whole and never has this been more evident as during this era of distance learning. Couldn't be a happier experience.
