John S. Burke Catholic High School is the premier college and high school preparatory school in the Hudson Valley.
Burke Catholic Academy for grades 6-8 opened in fall 2021 and is joined on the BC campus, held to the highest of academic standards. BC is chartered by the Board of Regents of New York State, and accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the National Catholic Education Association.
Our seniors have a 100% graduation rate, and 100% college acceptance rate.
Our graduating seniors are awarded, on average, over $360,000 in college scholarships per student.
Small class sizes lead to personalized instruction.
Burke Catholic offers 33 interscholastic athletic teams.
Many of those have won division, section, region and state championships! Burke Catholic's 25 activities and clubs allow students to fulfill their passions in the areas of art, education, drama and community service.Community service is an important element in making Burke Catholic who we are.
Our guidance department works with every student to ensure that all service activities are noted on college applications.
Burke Catholic & Burke Catholic Academy draws students from over 25 different school districts within NYS. Burke Catholic holds 12 specialized college admissions agreements with specific colleges & universities that will Guarantee Acceptance into that institution along with a designated academic scholarship. John S. Burke Catholic High School opened in December 1964. In the years that followed, Burke Catholic students, grades 8-12, were involved in a wide range of extra-curricular activities. The Burke Broncos Spring Track team, Hawkeyes Basketball team, Wrestling, Ski and Swim teams Freshman, JV and Varsity Cheerleading squads and many intramural sports, were among the athletic pursuits of BCHS students. Beginning in 1968 the school mascot for all sports was officially changed to the Eagle. Photography, art, film, debate, science, foreign language and math clubs also garnered student interest. "Not Words, but Deeds," the school motto, reflects the character of BCHS students throughout it's hundred-year history. Concern for others and the pursuit of excellence remain hallmarks of this school. The success of the student's is evident in the fact that 99% of BCHS graduates attend college.

I am interested in an administrative position and/or Chemistry/Physics since I am retiring from the NJ public school system. I live in Vernon, NJ and have taught Physics, Chemistry, Latin, English, and General Science. I have also served as a Director of Special Services and Principal at grade levels Pre-K through High School in Vernon, NJ. I am vested and do not require health benefits.
