School Notes

  • We are proud to have created a special learning environment for children in the Lake Country area, including Hartland, Pewaukee, Delafield, Oconomowoc, and Waukesha for children between 18 months and 6 years old. A child's school experience is significant in their young life, and a Montessori education is unique in its approach. Lake Country Montessori was founded in 2001 and offers preschool and kindergarten education programs.
  • Lake Country Montessori, Inc. prepares children for life by providing an environment that emphasizes respect for themselves, others, and the environment as well as responsibility and independence.
  • We are proud to have created a special learning environment for children in the Lake Country area, including Hartland, Pewaukee, Delafield, Oconomowoc, and Waukesha for children between 18 months and 6 years old. Children leave our school with confidence, as well as a solid academic foundation and a lifelong love of learning.
  • Classrooms practice mixed-age groupings, a focus on global education, valuing teacher observations, and the careful design of the environment and materials. We feel that these practices empower all participants (children, parents, and teachers) as collaborators, teachers, and learners.
  • Our beautifully designed toddler environment allows movement, encourages independence, and reinforces language development. This program is for children 18 months old to 3 years old.
  • The Children's House program provides an authentic Montessori education in a balanced mixed age group that aims to help children gain independence, self-discipline, confidence, curiosity, and problem solving competencies. Children work independently in long, unstructured work periods to develop concentration and independence. Our goal is to provide children with activities that help them grow socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually.
  • Lake Country Montessori offers a before and after care environment to enrolled children in both our Toddler Room and Children's House as a flexible option for families who need a longer day at school. The Montessori principles are followed in the before and after care environment, providing continuity with the classroom experience. The children in this environment have an opportunity to work/play with their friends in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere.

We are delighted that this school is so close to home, as our son absolutely thrives in this environment. The approach of enabling students to engage in their interests and encouraging his exploration has encouraged my son to read quickly, enjoy math (he is already doing algebra at 5), and be more compassionate towards other students and his younger brother. The parents obviously care deeply about the school community and we have found a wonderful group of families that share our approach to education. And the primary educator is one of the top practitioners in the state, which of course adds to the experience!

We feel blessed to have found this school for our son. He has one of the top Montessori teachers in the area, and he is thriving under her care and guidance. He loves to go to school and the type of advanced work he’s doing just astonishes me—and I chalk it up to the great staff and school. I highly recommend it.
