Lorien Wood is a Christ-centered school located in Vienna,
Virginia. Our primary commitment as a school and community is to
nurture each child`s intellect, character, faith and curiosity in a
manner that aligns with God`s design. A Biblical worldview is
foundational to all we teach and we use a Biblical framework for
seeing and understanding the world. Our teachers work in a
collaborative environment as they create and implement units of
study based on an integral curriculum. Parents are a vital part of
the school, contributing in areas from office work, to lunch and
recess duty, to supporting teachers both in and out of the
classroom. These unique elements of our school, which are further
articulated in our six "Distinctives," are a manifestation of our

We have two boys, 5th and 3rd grades and have been at Lorien Wood since our oldest was in Kindergarten. We have loved the school. The integral curriculum and outdoor education have truly helped our children explore God's world and begin to discover their place in it.
