School Notes

  • When it comes to our kids, we all want the same things. Healthy, inquisitive thinkers who grow into happy productive adults.
  • In the 21st century, schooling needs to be more like the world students will one day work in, and less like traditional lecture-based schooling.
  • From Preschool through High School all in one convenient location in Bedford.
  • Can I be honest for a minute? If you've been watching the news lately, you've probably seen another story about changes in public education. New curriculum. Teacher shortages. Budget cuts. Bigger class sizes. More testing. More politics. It's enough to make any parent stop and wonder..."Is this really the education I want for my child?"If you've asked yourself that question-even once-I want to invite you to come have a cup of coffee with me and tour Midcities Montessori. No pressure. No sales pitch.Just a chance to see what education can look like when children aren't treated like numbers. At Midcities Montessori, our students are known. Their lessons are individualized. They learn by doing, asking questions, building, creating, cooking, gardening, exploring, and yes... sometimes getting a little messy. Our Primary classroom is authentically Montessori, and our elementary through high school students continue with small classes, hands-on learning, individualized lesson plans, technology, cultural studies, art, STEAM, life skills, and the freedom to learn at the pace that's right for them.We don't spend our days teaching to a test.We spend our days teaching children. We're putting the finishing touches on our beautiful new campus, and school starts in just a couple of weeks. We still have a few openings, but once a classroom is full, we close enrollment. We don't create waitlists, and we don't keep adding desks just to increase numbers. If you've been thinking about a different educational path for your child...Maybe this is your sign.217 Harwood Rd. #222Bedford, TX 76021 817-476-1647Come see us. My wife and I needed a school that would allow our son learn at his pace and develop his strengths while keeping him socially balanced and confident. Midcities Montessori has been the perfect choice for us. The entire team; administrative and academic functions in sync with student needs and parent expectations, communication between us towards our sons welfare and concerns is excellent. Very happy with the experience over the past 4 years to date, our son loves it.

This is among my top three BEST EVER decisions in child-rearing. Period. I taught Kindergarten for ten years at a public school, and when I decided to have my own child I thought about homeschooling, but honestly, Midcities Montessori is the best of both worlds. Extreme individualized attention and lesson plans are mixed with social interaction in respectful and cooperative ways that are true to life in the real world. This is everything that I hoped for in a school, and what's more, they are completely unassuming, humble, and caring which may be quite different from a typical "private school" feel. My son is already surpassing what many Kindergartners can do and he is only three years old. It is also peace of mind knowing that I can keep him in a consistent place all the way through high school, which is sometimes hard to find in the Montessori World...I am beyond impressed.

Mid cities Montessori has been a great experience. We've been a Montessori family for 6 years. I love that my son will have consistency through high school. He's come out of his shell & enjoys going to school. He'll be starting 3rd grade in the fall!

WOW! I can't say enough about Mid cities Montessori! It is refreshing to find a school that cares so deeply about a child's well being and education! From tots to teens you won't find a better environment for your child to learn! And that goes beyond the classroom!! I would highly recommend Mid cities Montessori!

My son attends the high school program at Mid cities Montessori and absolutely loves it. The school has a focus on learning how to be an adult, instead of learning how to pass a STAR test. The staff is incredible and my son looks forward to going to school everyday. The classes are small so each student receives individual instruction from the teacher. The high school students are also enrolled in TCC and will begin taking dual credit classes in the fall. As a parent, I would recommend the high school program here to anyone seeking to prepare their teen to be a successful adult.

After working a decade in the corporate world, and another 7 years as a public school teacher/administrator, I can honestly say that Mid Cities Montessori offers the best educational opportunities to prepare your child for the real world. Classes are small and have a home school feel while still giving students the chance to socialize and interact with others. Students can enroll in Dual Credit classes through TCC, allowing them to earn high school AND college credit for the same work, with the support of a mentor (teacher) walking them through the college process. Ideally, high school students will graduate with a full year of college credit under their belt. Real life skills are also incorporated into the curriculum- financial literacy like budgeting and taxes, cooking classes, and resume-writing/interviewing. In 2019 we even represented Texas at the National Life smarts contest in Orlando, Florida where we showed off some of that "real world knowledge" in a Jeopardy-style competition against students from around the country. Our goal is that Mid Cities Montessori students graduate as responsible, informed and independent young adults. If you are looking for a high quality education that prepares your child for the real world in a family-style atmosphere come and visit us at Mid Cities Montessori.
