School Notes

  • School Motto: Plant the seeds. Watch them grow.
  • Mission Montessori is a privately owned and operated Montessori school in Mission Viejo, California, serving children from infancy through kindergarten. Since opening in 2009, our school has provided a warm, nurturing, and thoughtfully prepared environment where children are encouraged to grow at their own pace and develop a lifelong love of learning. Our programs are rooted in authentic Montessori philosophy and designed to support the whole child-academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Children are given the freedom to choose meaningful work within a carefully structured classroom, allowing them to build concentration, independence, confidence, coordination, and responsibility. Teachers observe each child closely and introduce lessons based on individual readiness, interests, and developmental needs.Mission Montessori offers infant, toddler, preschool, transitional kindergarten, and kindergarten programs. Our classrooms include hands-on materials in Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, Cultural Studies, Science, Geography, Art, and Music. Younger children benefit from a home-like environment with individualized care and routines, while older students participate in a rich Montessori curriculum that prepares them for future academic success. As a Christian-based school, we incorporate age-appropriate Bible stories, songs, prayer, grace before meals, and lessons that encourage kindness, gratitude, compassion, and respect for others. Families from all backgrounds are welcomed, and our approach is loving, inclusive, and non-denominational.Our experienced and dedicated teachers create strong relationships with children and families. Several members of our staff are Spanish-speaking and naturally introduce Spanish vocabulary, songs, and conversation throughout the school day. We also maintain small class sizes and attentive student-to-teacher ratios whenever possible.Healthy living is an important part of our school community. Mission Montessori provides nutritious snacks and offers fresh, handmade lunches prepared daily using wholesome and organic ingredients whenever possible. Our campus is nut-free and includes inviting indoor classrooms and outdoor spaces for movement, exploration, gardening, sensory play, and social development.Mission Montessori is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and joyful school experience where children feel known, supported, and capable. Our goal is to partner closely with parents while helping each child become an independent learner, a thoughtful friend, and a confident member of the community.
