About the School

  • Montessori Country School strives to deliver the best preschool and kindergarten experience possible.
  • Since its inception in 1971, the school has remained a non-profit with oversight from a parent-run board of directors.
  • Our classrooms are busy, productive places.
  • Each child is allowed to move about freely and choose his/her own work, carrying it out to completion with great concentration and enthusiasm.
  • Our curriculum emphasizes the development of the whole child within a helpful, respectful, and cooperative community.
  • We help each child achieve his/her full potential by following the key premises of Montessori education: Children are to be respected as individuals who differ from each other.
  • Children possess unusual sensitivity and mental powers for absorbing and learning from their environment.
  • The most important years of growth are the first six years of life when unconscious learning is gradually brought to the conscious level.
  • MCS has set the standard for Montessori education.
  • In addition to the Montessori school day, we have a variety of other schedule options from which parents may choose.
  • These include our excellent Aftercare program (dismissal options at 4:30 or 5:30 pm) and a recently added early drop-off option (8:00 am).
  • Please call for a tour, we would love to show you our program..
