School Notes

  • Montessori (pronounced MON-tuh-SORE-ee) is a comprehensive educational approach from birth to adulthood based on the observation of children's needs in a variety of cultures all around the world.
  • The Montessori School of Agoura opened its doors in September 1979, after having moved from Woodland Hills where it was established by Ann Culhane in 1973.
  • MSA has 1 preschool classroom for ages 2 - 4 years and 2 classroomsfor ages 3 - 6 years.
  • Teachers are Montessori trained and classrooms are fully equipped with Montessori materials.
  • We offer a variety of schedules from mornings only to extended day as well as a summer session.
  • Our students have the freedom to progress at their own pace, explore their world with self-led activities, and draw their own conclusions. They gain knowledge, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love for learning.
  • We understand that each preschooler is unique and at different stages of development, so we don`t compare abilities or encourage competition. Rather, we observe each child`s interests and build individualized lessons around them. When they graduate, they will be confident in taking the next steps of their educational journey.
