Two of my children attended NOVA. My son is currently in college and my daughter is finishing up 8th grade. When my son began NOVA in 7th grade, we had just moved to the state. NOVA was just what he needed to feel a sense of belonging and community. NOVA is very intentional about nurturing a community that support students'' social emotional needs and development alongside academic and creative growth. NOVA also strongly supports students'' individual interests and pursuits as well. In fact, the creative work my son started in his 8th grade project at NOVA is what he is still studying in college. NOVA gave him the space and opportunity to grow and explore in just the way he needed. My daughter began NOVA in 6th grade and has absolutely flourished! From the wide variety of enrichment activities that NOVA provides (chess, rock climbing, "the unexplained," crocheting, choir, and many more), the fabulous theatrical productions, travel opportunities, language learning, volleyball, and the rigorous but grounded academics, she has grown in ways I could not have imagined when she began 6th grade. Her social circle is supportive and kind; her teachers know the perfect balance between celebrating her and challenging growth; her world view has expanded tremendously. NOVA has been a gift for us as a family, I''m so grateful.

Both of my children attended NOVA. My oldest transferred to NOVA in the middle of 6th grade after floundering in the public "high-cap" program in middle school. While he seemed highly capable and had test scores that were extremely high, something clearly wasn''t clicking. After being at NOVA for about six months they reached out to us to discuss. They provided all the preparation that incoming 6th graders would receive, and he was still struggling. They suggested he may have something else going on we might want to address. I was so grateful for that recommendation. It lead to a diagnosis we could work with, and so quickly we saw changes and incredible improvements. The faculty and administration was amazing at recognizing challenges, meeting him where he was at, giving him individual tools, and mentoring him. My second child didn''t need the level of intervention my first did, and yet he grew to be a respected leader over his three years there. I''m beyond grateful to NOVA for helping launch both kids.

My son is in his final year at NOVA, and it's been a perfect fit for him. He's been challenged academically but has excelled, and the supportive faculty and staff have been a huge part of his success. It's a great community, where we feel like we're working towards the common goal of helping our kids make the transition from elementary to high school.

Nova changed my child`s life. I watched my sullen, bored 5th grader come alive again at Nova. It`s not just the incredible academics, but the staff and teachers that make Nova such a special place to be. Kids know it`s a safe place to take academic risks and that allows them to open up in incredible ways. You watch your child grow to new heights and in new ways you were never expecting. Sending my child to Nova was one of the best decisions I have made not only for my child but for our family as well. The Head of School, Barbara, offers amazing parent workshops and brings in lecturers to speak to supporting, loving, and living with your gifted child. It helped us become an even stronger family unit. We miss being at Nova dearly. It was truly a life-changing few years.

My son was just accepted to this school. I am pleased with the staff so far. With him being in the gifted program in elementary school, I am excited for his entire curriculum to be ''gifted'' education. I want to make a note, however, that this school is NOT grades 7-9. It is grades 6-8.
