Founded in 1947, Preston High School is a private, Catholic, collegepreparatory school for young women located along the East River in the Throgs Neck neighborhood of the Bronx. Academic Program
Preston offers a rigorous curriculum that includes Regents, Honors, Advanced Placement, and Dual Enrollment courses through partnerships with colleges and universities. Students engage in a broad range of disciplines-English, Mathematics, Science, History, Fine & Technical Arts, and World Languages-while electives such as Forensics, Law, Video Production, and Food Education allow them to explore specialized interests. With small class sizes and dedicated faculty, Preston prepares students to meet the expectations of collegelevel work with confidence.
Campus Ministry & Student Formation
Campus Ministry, an extension of the Theology Department, provides the framework for faith in action. Students participate in liturgies, communal prayer services, sacramental preparation, Friday morning Rosary, and gradelevel retreats. Service is woven into the life of the school: freshmen serve their families, sophomores serve the school, and juniors serve the wider community, with many seniors continuing their outreach voluntarily. These experiences instill responsibility, compassion, and integrity, ensuring students graduate as thoughtful leaders.
Student Life & Activities
Preston offers more than forty cocurricular opportunities, encouraging students to share their talents and pursue new passions. Clubs and organizations include Allies, Art Club, Gospel Choir, Compassion Connection, STEM, Student Council, Theater Production, Panther Vision, and cultural groups such as the Asian Club, Gaelic Society, Spanish Club, Italian Club, and Leaders of Color.
