Five stars to Sphinx Academy. My son struggled in his Freshmen year of High School at our local city school. He rejected authority of the teachers and school and had paid little enough attention that he had a very weak base of knowledge required to succeed in Algebra, high school science and writing. A series of events led to his buy-in for going to Sphinx for a year to redirect and catch up with his class. The staff at Sphinx, both administration and teachers, skillfully helped him to recognize his own power and responsibility for his future, and helped him to gain a basis for doing reading, ''riting and ''rithmatic at his grade level. This included adapting his schedule to do Algebra 1-on-1, while pushing him to participate successfully in the broader group for biology and history/language arts. They stayed on him about misuse of AI until he was producing his own arguments. A year at Sphinx completely changed my son''s trajectory and now he is returning to his previous school on grade, with new skills, clear focus, and a commitment to succeed on the Mechanic track at the vocational school.
