We focus on personalized, experiential learning to draw out each student's unique gifts and talents while instilling a love for learning and a desire to strive for the highest in all that they do. This culture of care and educational excellence is what makes St. Andrew's Schools special.
  • Developing Courageous and Compassionate Leaders: As an Episcopal school founded by Queen Emma Kaleleonlani, we carry out her legacy of courageous and compassionate leadership. Our faith and our school values expressed as aloha, kuleana, and mlama create an environment that honors the worth and dignity of every human being. Because they are known and understood, our students are ready to engage in learning that challenges them to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Taking Action to Make an Impact: As they grow with us, we inspire students to investigate the world, recognize multiple perspectives, and communicate their ideas with the goal of taking action to make a difference. To support this impact-based learning, our curriculum integrates science, technology, engineering, art, and math to challenge students to solve problems in creative and innovative ways.
  • Cultivating Leaders Through Authentic Work: Our Global Leadership curriculum, St. Andrew's in the City program, and exceptional college counseling position graduates for success because they have direct experience in leadership and community problem-solving. Our K-12 campus is footsteps from vibrant downtown businesses and the seat of government. Before graduating, high school students engage in authentic workplace experiences through internships that prepare them for college and beyond.
  • Kulia I Ka Nuu (Strive for the Highest): Developing a strong sense of self gives all our students the confidence to become changemakers in their communities. St. Andrew's nurtures the growth of each child by setting high expectations in an environment filled with lovingkindness. Our students can be themselves while becoming their best, in a place where they know they belong.

This school is all but co-ed now. On 26FEB2019 Headmaster Ruth Fletcher wrote to parents, "Of special note is the visiting team's support of the recent decision by our Board of Trustees to grow The Prep to 8th grade. This will be accomplished by adding one grade level per year, starting with a 5th grade class in 2019-2020. We're particularly excited about this decision because many of you have expressed a keen interest in keeping your sons here at St. Andrew's and we're happy to be able to fulfill your family's vision for the education of your child."

I have 2 girls who currently attend this amazing school ( middle school and high school). Both have thrived academically, socially, in sport opportunities and see the world through a wide global view. The oldest has had the opportunity to travel to the mainland 3 times with the Model UN class - and last year service trip to Cambodia through the Global Girls program. They are truly living Queen Emma's mission. The faculty and staff are extremely supportive both to my girls and us a family. We are grateful for the education, and opportunities that they have received.

Priory is a great college prep. school that focuses on academics. They have a good music program; students can participate in choir, band, or orchestra. It is not easy to play sports while going to this school, though. The chances of having to participate in a Pac5 sport program is high, too, so making practices is hard. They rarely give out awards. The education is good, though.
