Believing that the message of Christ must be authentically and fully proclaimed in our classrooms, the school strives to make each child's faith become living, conscious, and active through the light of instruction.
Our education encompasses the whole of human life - physical, intellectual, aesthetic, social, and spiritual - in order to help the child develop according to the example and teaching of Christ.
One of the primary aims of our education is the initiation of a vibrant Christian community among the faculty, student body, and parents.
A community of faith is established among the faculty as they seek to live and work in a spirit of genuine concern, encouragement and support, nourished by a sharing together in prayer.
This spirit is extended throughout the student body by an education that seeks to help each child esteem himself/herself as a person of worth.
This is enhanced by an attitude of acceptance of one another and by making prayer and communal worship an integral part of daily life.

Since Principal St. John arrived at St. Dom's a few year back, the school has become one of the best catholic elementary schools on Long Island. I say this from an academic point of view as the students have really become assertive and goal oriented. Overall, school scores for reading, science and math have been excellent. The school offers a full complement of art, sports and extracurricular activities. One criticism is that there are a few teachers there who need to move on, but I understand that its not quite so simple. I have two children at St. Dom's and love it. Feels like family.
