Students ...morehave been busy reading the Aeneid, studying Greek pottery, wrestling with Euclidean geometry, tracking Germanic invasions in the 5th Century and memorizing the first lines of the Odyssey in Ancient Greek. SJI is a classic text-focused, high school in the Catholic tradition.In Natural Philosophy, students have begun to learn about observing animal behavior leading up to Adventure Day at the Pickering Creek Audubon center where the students studied bird migration patterns. Students have been eager to get involved in extracurricular offerings of tennis, archery, ultimate frisbee, Greek, troubadour traditions, chess, ping-pong, swing dance, combative movements and fly-fishing. hide

We are a private, independent high school program that welcomed our first class Fall 2019.
SJI`s distinctive approach is grounded in a Christ-centered, liberal arts curriculum that engages the tradition while also addressing contemporary educational concerns.
Designed in a seminar format, the curriculum is a unified, four-year program of study that integrates subjects to provide more context, deeper understanding, and greater mastery than a typical lecture style.

SJI`s curriculum is based on the nationally-recognizedSt Jerome Academy educational plan. SJI`s philosophy of the human person, vision for academic community and school culture, methodology, and Christocentric approach are fully anchored in the SJA educational plan.The SJI curriculum is both a continuation of that plan into the high school years and an authentic development of its core values tailored to the opportunities and challenges of young adulthood.
The high school years mark a significant change in the life of the child. This is the time when girls and boys become young women and men. It is a dramatic time in the young person`s life, full of promise and peril. On the one hand, young people will naturally desire greater autonomy and enjoy new freedoms. Consequently, they begin to take greater ownership of their own education. On the other hand, driven by profound new longings and questions, students depend more than ever on friends and the broader community for their sense of identity. Their new freedoms place them in situations that can test their self-knowledge and self-command, often with a great deal at stake.Keeping this dichotomy in mind, SJI is devoted to maintaining a vibrant, respectful, and thoughtful community that lives out the truth that everything a school does teaches in some way. Within this humane community, students, teachers, and families can grow in knowledge and virtue.
At SJI we believe that education fundamentally involves the formation of the human person. Beneath every class, every lesson lies our great responsibility to more deeply engage the question of each student`s destiny and purpose. Children in our society have been underestimated not merely in terms of what they can come to know or understand, but also in their capacity to love. At SJI, we give students the opportunity to strike out beyond the cynical, the tired, and the trite offerings so frequently designated to them, so that they may dare to gaze in wonder and awe at the great gift of the world around them.

Although I`ve only been at SJI for one year, it is hands down the best school I`ve been to! The school community is like a family supporting each other on their academic and spiritual journey. The academics are challenging and rewarding; the teachers encourage students to understand topics truly. Additionally, they have music, art, sports, and other extracurricular activities.

This school is an amazing blessing to our family! Our son works hard and is learning a lot in all of his classes -- even Gym! He usually has homework, but most days have time for family, chores, practice, and other activities. The teachers are loving and inspiring. This place is unlike any other school in a thoughtful way that everything fits together. I believe they are preparing my son to live well as he becomes an adult.

I feel so blessed to be given the opportunity to attend SJI High School. The students are very encouraging, friendly, and kindhearted. The teachers are very caring, kind, and supportive and will go above and beyond to help me with my schoolwork. SJI is helping me prepare for college. I enjoy celebrating Feast Days and spending time with students and staff. I love SJI.

Deeply impressed with the commitment level of the faculty, especially the appreciation for beauty and excellence by the leadership. High-quality academic instruction, individual feedback and care. Though extracurriculars are limited due to size and newness of school, whole-person education more than makes up for it!
