School Notes

  • Welcome to the newest Catholic elementary school in Sioux Falls: St. Katharine Drexel Elementary! In response to the growing demand for Catholic education from the families of the west side of Sioux Falls and surrounding areas, St. Katharine Drexel Elementary opened its doors in the Fall of 2008 as a Preschool through 1st grade school. We have since added one grade each year and now offer Preschool through 6th grade.
  • We begin our week with students saying a decade of the Rosary together, school mass is held every Wednesday morning, and the week concludes with classes spending time in the Chapel. Each classroom has the opportunity to prepare and participate in the weekly school mass. We invite parents and other family members to join us for this special time. At St. Katharine Drexel Elementary, we place a strong emphasis on teaching the students about the virtuesof respect, responsibility, gratitude, service, honesty, love, compassion, forgiveness, manners, and trust.Through various activities, students understand the value of being a Child of God. Upon enteringour school, you will be greeted by a very caring and spiritual staff who know each child as an individual. We have small class sizes which are great for meeting each student`s unique needs. Classrooms have interactive Promethean or Smart Boards for teachers and students to use in the learning process. Parents are also actively involved in school activities and with our School Family Organization (SFO).
