Browning is an excellent school. Our son is thriving with great attention from teachers and a close-knit school environment that we feel is truly known. The school is committed to academic excellence and also focuses on building character. The parent community is warm and welcoming. We adore Browning!

My husband and I toured more than 12 schools for our son. There was just something about the people at Browning that stood out to us. We felt like a member of the family at each event and appointment. We ultimately chose Browning because of the small class sizes and how well they articulated the education of boys. Our son is in First Grade now and he has more confidence than ever. He gets a lot of attention from his teachers and that means so much to us!

What stands out at Browning is the individual focus the teachers have on the boys given relative strength and maturity. Most breakout groups are 4 in size (within First Grade) which works really well for our son. There is a lot of emphasis on Diversity and Inclusion. The Browning parent community is extremely approachable - one large family.

We LOVE The Browning School. Our son was accepted to several of the most prestigious schools in Manhattan and we initially thought we couldn't pick incorrectly, given our excellent-on-paper options. We decided on another school and signed that contract. Then, at an event at the Carlyle Hotel, we met the nicest family. Their son had also been accepted pretty much everywhere. They were at Browning and had fabulous things to say about the school. So, we reached back out to Browning--long after admissions letters went out, and waitlists had all been called--"just to see." Browning did not technically have a spot, but still invited us back for a second visit, and allowed our son to sit with the current kindergarten class for a few hours. On the second pass, they admitted our son. We paid two kindergarten tuitions (and we are not Vanderbilts) and have never looked back. Well during the Pandemic, we moved full-time to our weekend house, and our son attended a (revered) CT private school for a year. But nothing compares to Browning. We are happily back. We might consider moving out of NYC, but this extraordinary school has some hold over us. Browning is academically rigorous, but also meets each boy where he is (academically, developmentally, and just...as a person). This instills so much self-reliance, grit/Grotte, and confidence. Our son will excel academically wherever he lands because of this foundation. He will also be a kind person because of Browning. For our family, Browning is the unparalleled gold standard. If you get into Browning, GO! Amazing Leadership, teachers who care a huge amount and put their hearts and souls into these kids, and a supportive, warm environment. Also, Browning alum gets into outstanding secondary schools and colleges, and seem to thrive once there.

We have been parents of a Browning student going on for 5 years now. We are so happy without a choice. Browning provides the academic rigor we want but also the character building that we feel is equally important. Each, we are impressed with how much our son's homeroom teacher understands his personality and learning style and customizes their approach with him. Browning is a forward-thinking school but thoroughly thinks through its curriculum and approach. We are happy with the mix of new initiatives, such as computer science, robotics, history, and keeping with traditional elementary school curricula. Browning provides a safe and responsive learning environment for our son to grow and we couldn't be happier.

Amazing faculty, caring environment, excellent academics. Browning has been our son's school since Kindergarten, and he plans to be there for all 13 years. Great collection of boys in the class and an involved and diverse/interesting parent community.

How would I describe Browning? Warm, close, and very warm school for our son. There is a huge amount of emphasis on self-development, purposeful learning, and raising men. The school energy, vibe, and positivity are really refreshing and different in New York City. We are part of several other NYC school communities (Co-Ed, Public, ²ÝÁñÉçÇø, and SS Girls) and we found the Browning school community to be the closest and warmest.

Our son joined Browning 9 years ago in Kindergarten and enjoys it since then every day! He takes the uptown school bus from the West Village every morning whereas in the afternoon/evening - after sports - he rides the subway back home. What we really like about Browning is the well-rounded approach, which balances challenging academics, sports, arts, fun, and a caring and collaborative environment. The faculty is working very closely with the boys and is always there to give them extra help - if needed. The head of the school, Dr. Botti, and his stellar team are relentlessly focused on providing an excellent academic foundation and supporting boys` needs for deep relationships and enduring sense of purpose. Our son is thriving in this framework and is evolving into an independent, young, adult.

We first came across Browning over a dozen years ago when looking for a kindergarten for our oldest boy. Of all the schools we visited, it seemed to have the most personal connections between teachers and students. That has proven to be true, as we have seen with our two boys who are enrolled currently. The small size provides not only a sense of intimacy but an environment where everyone knows almost everyone else. Yet despite its warmth, the academics are indeed rigorous. It's one of those places that's hard to find in NYC.

We have three boys and looked extensively at a broad range of NYC schools. Unequivocally Browning ended up our first choice each time. There are many great schools out there, but we couldn't find one that had the same sense of community as Browning. Dr. Botti is not paying lip service when he speaks about the school's commitment to character and fostering lifelong learners. Whether your boy is passionate about sport, or art, or academics, or all of the above, they will find the resources they seek and a supportive community to foster that passion.

Browning School provides a wonderfully supportive community, especially for boys with emotional and/or behavioral issues. Our son faced severe challenges coping with some traumatic family events, and the school could not have been more understanding and accommodative - our prior school was not nearly as tolerant. It provides a great environment that allowed our son to stay in a main stream educational environment.
