School Notes

The Contoocook School was created in 2000 to serve New Hampshire's school districts by providing a special education program that could serve students with specific emotional and learning needs.
We are an out-of-district special education placement, and currently accept students from New Hampshire public schools who have an IEP with the primary codingof Emotional Disturbance, Other Health Impairment, Specific Learning Disability,and Autism.
We serve students in grades 6-12, and have a maximum capacity of 14 students.

The Contoocook School was created in 2000 to serve New Hampshire's school districts by providing aspecial education program that could serve students with specificemotional and learning needs. We are an out-of-district special education placement, and currently accept students from New Hampshire public schools who have an IEP with the primary coding of Emotional Disturbance, Other Health Impairment, Specific Learning Disability, and Autism. We cannot accept students from states other than New Hampshire. Referrals come from New Hampshire school districts who are looking for a more supportive program for students with specific needs. We work with the student and family to help achieve their goals. In some cases, this means helping the student develop the skills needed to transition back into a public school setting. In other cases, it means working with the student to help them earn a high school diploma. The Contoocook School is able to award a 20 credit diploma based on the New Hampshire minimum standards.
