The International School of San Francisco is a multicultural PK2-12 learning community where students learn to navigate the complexities of the world with confidence, empathy, and joy.

The International School of San Francisco is the school where every mind elevates the learning experience and every culture is a portal to empathy and understanding.
Our primary entry points are in Grade 9, Kindergarten, and Preschool at ages two, three, or four.
Our Preschool through Grade 8 program is a bilingual program in French.
Students applying for High School do not need to speak French or any language other than English.
Students applying for Kindergarten or Preschool do not need to speak French when they apply they will acquire bilinguality through our program.

Since our founding over 60 years ago, The International School of San Francisco has prepared studentsto navigate the world with confidence and command, empathy and joy. We achieve this through rigorous bilingual, French, and International Baccalaureate education programs, and a vibrant school culture strengthenedby multilingual, multinational educators and families.
Our students experiencea unique, bilingual environment from PK2-8. By Grade 8, our students are fluentin both French and English and study a third language.
In Grade 9, our community expands to include incoming students from across San Francisco and families from around the globe. Many of these students are not bilingual, yet they all have a desire to experience the world around them.
In high school, students earn an internationally recognized baccalaureate diploma in additionto a U.S. high school degree. We prepare our students to go on to thrive at the best universities, anywhere in the world.

We joined the International School in 2012, when our son was just four years old. One of the main reasons we chose this school was the impression left by the confident, self-assured, kind, and worldly students who spoke at the open house we attended. We wanted those qualities for our son, and we're proud to say that as an eleventh grader, he embodies them all. The school truly shapes children into global citizens. Like others have mentioned, we are not a French-speaking family, but that hasn't stopped our son from becoming fluent in French.
