The Parish School Photo #1 - At The Parish School, we teach to the individual child. We provide a learning environment that addresses the variety of learning styles, interests and abilities found within a classroom.

The Parish School Photo #2 - The Parish School is a nurturing and safe educational environment located on a beautiful 17-acre campus reminiscent of a Texas Hill Country summer camp. With a focus on communication skills, social learning, independence, nature and the arts, children thrive and grow.

The Parish School Photo #3 - Since 1983, The Parish School has educated children ages 2–12 who have communication delays and learning differences, empowering them with the tools to succeed.

The Parish School Photo #4 - Speech-language therapy, social, music, art and occupational therapy are all incorporated into our academic program. Additional supports are conveniently located at an on-site pediatric therapy clinic or arranged through our specialists.

The Parish School Photo #5 - Children born with any developmental delay are at risk for falling behind academically. That is why early intervention is so important. Our early childhood program addresses the needs of children as young as 2 years of age, and is guided by best practices as outlined by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

The Parish School Photo #6 - Our academic program is aligned to the standards developed by the State of Texas and follows best practices as outlined by the Learning Disability Association of America. We help students realize the tools they need to thrive in any educational environment. Elementary curriculum incorporates research-based approaches tailored specifically to meet the needs of each child. Lead educators use multiple instructional and behavioral techniques to enhance classroom success. Speech-language pathologists provide approximately 8 hours of group language intervention and social therapy per week, utilizing the Social Thinking® methodology. Systematic and comprehensive instruction facilitates the development of language, social and academic skills.

The Parish School Photo #7 - The Parish School’s curriculum is designed to challenge students while meeting the specific needs of each child. Small class sizes allow for personalized instruction as our professional team develops specific strategies and compensation skills for each student. Our focus is on discovering how each student learns in order to maximize their educational experience and accomplishments. Lessons blend language and social skills into the curriculum developing self-confident, motivated children who enjoy learning.

The Parish School Photo #8 - Specialized instructional activities can identify extraordinary hidden abilities, boost self-esteem and promote self-expression. Students attend each of our arts and sciences classes at least once per week. Classes include art, music, theater, nature studies, digital learning, library and physical education.

The Parish School Photo #9 - Adventure Play at The Parish School is a unique opportunity for children to reimagine the world around them and engage in self-directed play. Children are given the chance to create anything they can imagine using materials others may cast aside as trash, like cardboard boxes, old tires, wood pallets and dirt. We offer Adventure Play as an after school program on The Parish School campus Monday-Thursday from 3:15 – 5:30 p.m. It is open to all children (public or private) between the ages of 6-12 years old. Students have to opportunity to attend 2 or 4 days per week.

The Parish School Photo #10 - Camp Acorn enhances language, social, motor and academic development in a literature-rich, multi-sensory environment for children from 2 - 12 years old. Our camp focuses on children with communication delays and learning differences who have average to above average learning potential.
