Our son transferred from another private school several years ago. We could not be happier with his experience at TRA. He has an incredible group of friends (of both genders). Although fairly brainy, he's challenged by the school's academic standards. I've noticed a huge improvement in his writing skills. They use the Harkness Method in some courses. They do lots of public speaking and take a year of formal logic. This year my son was reading Augustine and St. Patrick. Even the classical art program is incredible. We feel so lucky that he's getting this kind of educational experience. (In fact, our younger children are transferring in this year.)Having gone through the Covid years at TRA, the board and administrators have earned our complete trust. We know from experience that they carefully and prayerfully make decisions and will keep us in the loop every step of the way. They get an A+ for communication, which is very rare (in our experience with other schools). We get a weekly email every Monday and Friday. Even the staff in the office is top-notch in communication, friendly attitude, and genuine love for the students. Finally, this is a FUN place. Despite the uniforms, Latin classes, homework, etc., these kids have a blast. There are too many unique and super fun traditions to list here. Anyway, we love TRA and recommend it to any family looking for an environment that will challenge, support, and encourage your child as they grow into high-character men and women of faith.

My children were integrated into The River Academy 7 years ago, and this community has profoundly shaped our experience of the Wenatchee Valley ... all for the good! There are committed parents, wonderful zany / smart / curious children, and teachers committed each year to improve their game. When we first arrived, the school was going through a transition, but the hard work was worth it as now it has less of a parochial feel, and more of an integrated-into-the-world feel. Our kids feel sheltered from some of the worst excesses of what is out there, without being cloistered. Also, your kids will learn some incredible public speaking skills, as this is integrated throughout all the years - a definite bonus!
