Our students are most often diagnosed with language-based learning disabilities by specialists in the field. At Summit, our preference is to view those disabilities as differences because we emphasize the gifts each student brings, help them reach their full potential, as well as remediate their skills. The school offers a mainstream curriculum in a supportive environment with programs tailored to individual learning styles. Highly skilled teaching professionals cultivate each child's strengths using a multi- sensory approach to foster literacy and interactive learning. Outside the classroom, students participate in a wide range of activities including athletics, student government, clubs and community service programs. Summit students successfully transition to area mainstream high schools.The Summit School educates children with unique learning styles to their full potential. Innovative school that matches some of the best academic programs in Europe or Australia. I have been impressed with their willingness to be creative and seek ways to identify issues in each child and then work to help the CHILD learn to address them. They build confidence not only in the material they are learning but in their ability to learn generally. We were lucky we discovered our son's dyslexia early, but for those who learned later, the school has a remarkable ability to turn around troubled students and make them acadmic achievers who are not limited by their learning issue.
