WSL has been wonderful for our family! We've been at the school for a couple of years now and have seen the benefits of a nontraditional education. Our child has flourished and started to let go of academic anxieties all while still excelling and being challenged academically. The community at WSL is very welcoming and we love all the seasonal festivities. So happy to have this gem of a school in the heart of Louisville!

I would like to echo the review posted by the parent of Zach. I also had similar reservations about this school. My son has now attended for 4 years (throughout COVID and beyond). He is performing at a very high level, enjoys going to school, and has been challenged in ways that he would not be challenged in a traditional school environment. His critical thinking is beyond that of most children his age and he continues to become more adaptable. I love that he is in class with children from all races and religions. He is tended to with care and I 100% trust the teachers and faculty. I would highly recommend this school, especially for parents looking to find a private non-denominational education. I appreciate that the school is upfront and honest about the curriculum and teaching style (play-based, hands-on, no one style fits all approach). The teachers also heavily push a strong/similar routine at home and it has served us very positively. I do not feel that my child has joined a "rat race" but I still feel that he is excelling academically. We feel welcome at the school every day - all the people there are accepting. There is no feeling of needing to wear certain clothing or act in certain ways in order to achieve acceptance. We have been "sold" per se and will continue with the education of our children at this school through the grades.

I'm a big believer in public education and was very reluctant to send our son to a private school, particularly one that had the earthy, "crunchy" vibe of Waldorf. I feared the curriculum wouldn't be challenging enough and that our son might fall behind his peers academically. I had also read the horror stories about some Waldorf schools' dogmatic adherence to Rudolf Steiner's teachings, including his gross views on race. Those fears were completely unfounded and I am so glad I was able to look past them. The glowing reviews from previous years are spot-on and I can't recommend this school highly enough. There are no letter grades or homework at his level, but our son is growing/performing academically at or above the level of his peers in public and more traditional private schools. He has thrived at school and genuinely loves attending. The faculty does follow/believe in Steiner's educational philosophy, but that never bleeds into teaching that philosophy to the kids. The school completely opened my mind about what makes a great education; I wish every kid could experience this.

Waldorf School of Louisville is a remarkable school and community of students and caregivers with a supportive staff and faculty. The way WSL incorporates art, nature, and movement into the academic study is incredibly fulfilling for my child. I highly recommend taking a tour and speaking with parents and observing students in their element, attending a festival or fair to experience the magic that is rooted here.

Our 7-year son has blossomed at WSL. We feel extremely fortunate that Louisville has a Waldorf school--- the whole child approach and warm, inclusive community are particularly impressive. WSL's methods truly inspire lifelong learning, and our son's curiosity has soared! We feel we have found the best school in Louisville to allow him to grow into his best self.

A diamond in the rough!... I feel so lucky to be able to send my child to Waldorf of Louisville. My son was attending one of the highest-ranked public schools in Kentucky, unsuccessfully- he was miserable, bullied and medically neglected. I visited this school on a whim, as it was one of my wildest dreams to send my kiddo here- to such an institution that could encapsulate him with nature, friends, and childhood wonder. I was prepared to continue my child lonely in homeschool and was shocked with a tuition assistance award that has allowed him to attend (now his second year!). I feel very blessed and so much relief because my son is truly delighted to go to school each day, and WSL has been more than accommodating to his extensive special needs! Also, parental involvement in any or all processes of school/education is warmly welcomed and encouraged. It is comforting to find yourself with other adults having or offering solutions to any parenting concerns/struggles at different stages/ages of your growing child. A genuinely loving community is nurtured with a common goal of laying down great groundwork, which allows each child to blossom to his/her fullest potential, as we all maintain awareness and enjoyment with our child and community throughout the journey of these precious years and into whatever may come beyond 8th grade... Bonus perks too long to list include foreign languages, gardening, chickens! woodwork, handwork, violin/cello instruction, thoughtful traditions and to top it off a teacher who knows and develops in-depth each child`s strengths and weaknesses- while he or she actually moves with your child through the grades! 5 stars aren`t into to express what a gem WSL is...

Our family loves this school! WSL offers arts-infused academics, a variety of specialty classes, seasonal celebrations and performances and attracts a wonderful community of families. The parent enrichment component (workshops, talks, etc) has been a game changer for my approach to understanding and connecting with my children. Highly recommend.

We moved to Louisville in the summer before my daughter started third grade. We toured the school, did our diligent research, and decided to send her. The school is small, inviting, where you feel like part of a family. I like, as one reviewer put it, that the school "focuses on the entire mind, body, and spirit of the child." No bubble wrap, over protective with battleship grey walls here. Here, your child can have a childhood, the childhood essential for proper development, where learning is part of life and boldly embraced as an adventure, not a scantron sheet where you pick 1 of 5 choices.

The Waldorf School of Louisville is a remarkable place. My daughter is so happy there, and I have found a place that can nurture and support my child on her educational journey. I can not speak highly enough of this school!

I would highly recommend a Waldorf education for anyone looking for a school for their children that focuses on the entire mind, body, and spirit of the child. Waldorf recognizes that children are children and need to play and learn. The academic programs are of the highest quality (They offer multiple languages, Spanish and Japanese). The teachers care for the children, and even help to educate the parents on the philosophy of the school, and the programs. I wouldn't send my children anywhere else.

I would not have moved to Louisville without knowing that there was a Waldorf School here. The school has made it affordable afor my familty and has been the perfect choice for my children. I would reccommend this school highly to anyone.
