Champlain Valley Christian School is a high-quality, academically rich, family-oriented, elementary and middle school for students in grades K-8. Each subject is taught from a Christian perspective, acknowledging God as the Master Creator. The school works in partnership with the parents and the church to provide the best possible Christian education for our students.

The Christian School Society was organized in 1969 by a group of concerned parents who were convinced of the need for Christian education in Vermont's Champlain Valley area. It took 5 years of planning and gathering the support of those parents to finally make a Christian school become reality in 1974. Located in nearby Ferrisburg, just a few miles away from the current school, the first school opened in a rented converted retail store building.The school opened with grades 1 through 6 and additional grades were added later as the number of students increased. It was not long before it became apparent that the building was too small to hold the growing number of students. In 1976, the Champlain Valley Christian Reformed Church (CVCRC) built a larger church facility. With the needs of the CVCS in mind, this new facility was designed with seven classrooms, a gymnasium, and also a kitchen. It was able to serve all the grades from K through 12. With the extra space and better learning environment, CVCS continued to grow. As time went by it became apparent that this location too was getting too small! After several years of fundraising and planning, construction started in 2007 for a new and modern school facility. The building site was donated to the CVCS by the Champlain Valley Christian Reformed Church. Located in the city of Vergennes, the new school had access to municipal sewage and water. In August 2008 the students were able to move into their beautiful new school building. This new facility has eight classrooms, a library/computer lab, a community room with kitchen, administrative offices, and a future nurse鈥檚 office. With its wide central hallway, bright colors, and lots of natural lighting, it is an ideal learning environment for students. With plenty of space to grow, it is our hope that someday the new school will be used to its full capacity of about 125 students. The Lord has truly blessed the Champlain Valley Christian School throughout the years!
