Gilman School Photo #1 - Gilman's Upper School prepares young men to build the world of tomorrow. Students engage in a timeless and challenging college-preparatory program that emphasizes a strong work ethic, critical thinking skills, effective oral and written communication, and lifelong enjoyment of intellectual pursuits.

Gilman School Photo #2 - Gilman's Early Childhood Program embodies joy, happiness, and excitement. Our lessons promote exploration and discovery, resulting in a lifelong spirit of inquiry and learning. Here, Pre-K students show off their newly-made crowns celebrating autumn.

Gilman School Photo #3 - Lacrosse is one of the many interscholastic sports offered at Gilman. Gilman firmly believes that participation in athletics and/or physical activity forms a vital part of the overall educational experience for all of its students in all grades, PK-12.

Gilman School Photo #4 - We strive to instill in our students a sense of adventure in the exploration of the natural world, as well as the scientific literacy and critical thinking skills to prepare them for science courses they will see in college.

Gilman School Photo #5 - The arts program at Gilman encourages boys to explore art through various media. It encourages students of all ages to appreciate art, think creatively, observe the world around them, and, no matter their artistic skill, understand how artists create illusions of light, space, and emotion in their work.

Gilman School Photo #6 - Middle School boys leave the Walter Lord Library, named for one of Gilman's most accomplished and most loyal alumni, Walter Lord '35, who wrote 12 books, notable among them "A Night to Remember" detailing the last hours of the Titanic.

Gilman School Photo #7 - The strong music program at Gilman opens boys' ears to music, its many genres, nuances, and methods of creation, and gives them a lifelong gift of appreciation.

Gilman School Photo #8 - All-school convocations, other special events, and assemblies are held throughout the year, at which students, faculty, and staff come together for celebration, festivity, or appreciation.

Founded in 1897 as the nation's first country day school, Gilman School is a pre-K-12 private independent day school for boys.
