School Notes

Nestled in the Montana Rocky Mountain foothills, Intermountain is a residential treatment center providing an array of services to 32 boys and girls, ages 5-13, struggling with emotional, psychological, behavioral and learning challenges. The educational program is administered by the Director who holds a Masters in Special Education and a K-12 Principal certification. Individualized plans are tailored to the unique learning styles and abilities of each student. Each classroom is staffed by a certified special education teacher, and two mental health specialists. Class size is 10-12 students. Students attend classes 6 hours/day, 210 school days per year. SMART boards, I-pads, and computers are integrated into the classrooms. Related services and activities include Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy, neurofeedback, PE, Bal-A-Vis-X, music, art, and social skills.

In addition to a completed application, each student must be accepted educationally, clinically and medically. Any psychological or academic testing shouId be included with the appliction as well as immunizations and any medical problems. IQ below 80 is not a good candidate for our school.
