Kingswood Oxford School Photo #3 - Our formal programming surrounding a student`s post-secondary planning begins in 10th grade and continues throughout their time at KO. We partner with our families throughout this process, as we all work together to support the student in making the best decisions possible to reach their future goals. Highlights include small group classes and regular meetings with college counselors.

Our Broadway@KO signature program has Broadway professional workshop with our students so our kids continue to elevate their acting, singing, and dancing skills.

Students gain mastery of the material they are learning, guided by exceptional teachers. Kingswood Oxford School Photo #9 - The one-of-a-kind English Symposium has welcomed some of the nation`s greatest writers, poets, and playwrights, including Arthur Miller, John Updike, William Styron, Min Jin Lee, Joyce Carol Oates, Colson Whitehead, etc. The author visits campus for workshops. To prepare, students in all grade levels read at least one work. A senior class reads all of the author's works.
Kingswood Oxford School Photo #10 - Each student is connected to an advisor who advocates for the student and family. In addition to overseeing a student`s academic progress, advisors also provide informal and personal guidance in all areas of school life. They collect and receive information from faculty and advisees and serve as a liaison between parents and the school. Advisee group size is 7-9 students.

We work to empower students to become independent, to self-advocate and to embrace lifelong learning through a rich and robust academic program as well as co-curricular activities and leadership opportunities. KO students are multi-faceted, motivated and compassionate.
  • Opportunities abound for students to find their voice, to discover a passion they didn`t know they had -- to shine. KO offers a safe and nurturing environment to test new ideas, start campus initiatives and work through challenges. KO faculty and staff work with parents every step of the way. We believe that the parent-teacher partnership is critical to the student`s success. A faculty advisor meets with a small group of students several times a week to help them navigate academic and social issues and check in with parents should a challenge arise. Advisors are always here to listen and to guide with patience and honesty. And, as a day school, students form one cohesive group; no lines of demarcation exist between a day student and boarding student. We all share a similar experience - going home to our families at night.
