The Washington Market School (WMS) is a non-profit, independent preschool serving the Tribeca community for nearly 50 years. We offer thoughtfully designed half and full day programs for children ages 2-5. Our curriculum blends Montessori and Reggio-Emilia philosophies, celebrating children's innate curiosity and limitless capacity for absorbing new skills. In a typical day, children participate in independent work time, studio classes, group meetings, and gross-motor activities. At WMS, weoffer a range of parent education initiatives designed to support and empower families, as well as acomprehensive and collaborative exmissions process.

The Washington Market School has caring and supportive teachers who help children develop learning curiosity and independence. The mixed age classroom provides a great opportunity for younger kids to learn from older ones and for older kids to learn leadership skills at an early age. The parents are also very involved in school events and holiday celebrations.
